I know, I do have a foreign sounding name. Most of my friends and foreign friends call me Melai, a full-time ESL teacher, and a part-time travel, culture, and lifestyle writer, also a freelance photographer.
I have been teaching in iTalk for 9 years straight. I am enjoying my current work set-up since I can teach from the comfort of my room while I travel different countries in Southeast Asia. However, when I am not traveling, you can catch me at the office.

As the neologism 'Kokushobi' suggests, scorching hot days have lasted for a few weeks during the summer in Japan over the past few years.While Tokyo residents may not feel any changes other than the high temperatures, people living in coastal areas, such as fishermen, recognize the impact of global warming, for instance, through a reduction in fish catches.
Despite these harsh realities, I believe we can stop global warming through our collective efforts.
As exemplified by the recovery of the ozone layer, overcoming climate change is entirely feasible, as long as we do not give up.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

As I mentioned in the lesson, I fully agree with the idea of banning social media for children for the following reasons.
1) Social media can be a breeding ground for bullying
2) Social media can deprive you of precious time.
3) Social media can lead to online crime.
Meanwhile, social media has some advantages, such as helping you find old classmates or join a group with a rare hobby.
It is important for not only teens but adults to develop a strong understanding of how to use social media effectively.

I was surprised to hear the news that even modern technology cannot extinguish the wild fire, I realized that the natural disaster is terrible again.
There are not only celebrities but also ordinary people in Los Angeles.
The wealthy people can live even in a luxury rental house, but they have to move to affordable areas due to the disaster.
It seems that this gap is unfair, but the rental fee depends on the demand. So it is quite natural.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

In the past, Okinawa Prefecture was widely known as having the longest average life expectancy in Japan.
However, the average lifespan in Okinawa is no longer the longest in Japan.
The average lifespan of female Okinawans is ranked 16th, but that of male Okinawans is ranked 5th from the bottom.
Instead of Okinawa, Nagano Prefecture has been ranked as the top as high longevity in Japan.
The climate of Nagano is not temperate, because Nagano is at a high altitude and surrounded by high mountains.
So I agree that the reason why they can live longer is the habit of walking and other factors.
