Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on the article "Seasonal Self-Care: How to Beat the Winter Blues" that you kindly selected on 3 Feb. 2025.
My method of waking up even on a cold morning is to take several small actions.
First, I stop my alarm clock so as not to repeat the bell.
Second, I sit up straight and keep my eyes closed while sitting.
A few seconds later, I stand up. Finally, I drink a cup of coffee.
The winter blues can also be prevented with this method.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on the article "Japan's Fight to Save Bookstores: A Cultural Battle" that you kindly selected on 31 Jan. 2025.
I really feel that the number of bookstores is decreasing. Today, there are only two bookstores in our city.
In fact, I often buy books from online bookstores because it is quite convenient.
In addition, customers can get points and coupons that can be used for the next purchase.
I believe that the only way for bookstores to survive in the marketplace is to play a role as a community center in the area.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on the article "Japanese People Want to Take Restaurant Leftovers Home" that you kindly selected on 30 Jan. 2025.
I agree to take leftovers to home, because it can contribute to reduce food waste.
Other than that, I always pick up products from the farthest position on the shelf when I do shopping in a grocery store. Products at the most front of the shelf have a short expiration date, while those at the most back of the shelf have a long expiration date.
This behavior is not favorable for grocery stores, but it makes sense from the consumer's point of view.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on the article "Kanagawa Police Use AI to Predict and Prevent Crimes" that you kindly selected on 22 Jan. 2025.
This article reminded me of the most notorious police organization in Japan, the Kanagawa Police.
The misconduct of the Kanagawa police has been observed since 1990 until now.
Meanwhile, I agree with the idea of adopting AI technology.
As you know, the AI is completely based on history and past experience.
In order to prevent misconduct by the Kanagawa Police, they should take advantage of the technology.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on the article "Start Small, Keep Going: How to Form Habits That Last" that you kindly selected on 20 Jan. 2025.
What a good way to achieve your New Year's resolutions, as described in this article.
I really appreciate the method that we should form the habit to achieve divided and small tasks.
This method is actually used in our work because it is very practical.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on the article "Plogging: A Fitness Trend Cleaning the World" that you kindly selected on 17 Jan. 2025.
As I mentioned in the lesson, there are few people who like to do plogging because they want to build up their body physically and mentally.
Picking up trash can make jogging difficult, but this activity may burn/consume a lot of calories.
I'm not sure which is better in terms of keeping fit.
When it comes to environmental issues, I suppose reducing waste and segregating trash is more crucial than plogging.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on the article "Suzuki and S.T. Corporation Develop Air Freshener for Motion Sickness" that you kindly selected on 14 Jan. 2025.
This article remineded me of my past experience.
I'm tolerant of motion sickness because I've been riding in a vehicle since I was a little baby.
However, I'm likely to get motion sickness if other passengers smoke in the same vehicle.
When I was on a bus to visit my parent's house, one of the other passengers smoked, even though smoking is not allowed on the bus, then I got severe motion sickness and felt nauseous.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on the article "Shiga's Matchmaking Event Uses Tech to Measure Connections" that you kindly selected on 12 Jan. 2025.
As I mentioned in the lesson, I doubt the policy of having participants wear devices to track heart rate during the party.
I suppose that the facilitator of that party would take the heart rate results into account in determining the couples.
However, newcomers to the parties are more likely to have high heart rates than experienced participants.
In addition, just because the participants have a high heart rate does not mean that the opponents are attractive.
When it comes to party face to face, the appearance of the participants are more crusial than other elements cased on my experience.
So, not only AI technoloye but the deveice to measure heart beat are meaningless for matchmaking events.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on the YouTube video "Rising Tuition in Japan: What Global Models Can Teach Us" that you kindly selected on 10 Jan. 2025.
As I mentioned in the lesson, tuition at all national universities in Japan should be free.
The educational level and research quality of national universities in Japan are superior to private universities, so the national universities are worth it.
Even if the Japanese government pays the compensation, the total budget is not affected, becasuse the number of public universities is only 86 out of a total of 796 universities.
However, the current Japanese government is reluctant to adopt this idea.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on the YouTube video "Foreign Drivers Boost Japan's Taxi Industry Amid Shortages" that you kindly selected on 9 Jan. 2025.
I agree with the idea of hiring foreigners as taxi drivers in Japan.
Due to technological advances, foreign taxi drivers who do not speak Japanese can deal with customers more easily than in the past.
The latest smartphone can navigate to destinations and interpret other languages.
There would be disadvantages between Japanese and foreigners from a taxi driver's point of view.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on the YouTube video "Vaping While Smoking Unlikely to Help People Quit Cigarettes" that you kindly selected on 8 Jan. 2025.
After reading this article, I feel I will not vape in the future, because there are no benefits of vaping for non-smokers.
Vaping has not been proven to be safe for our bodies. For smokers, vaping cannot help them quit smoking.
However, my impression is that the number of vape users is greater than the number of cigarette users in my city.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on the YouTube video "Japan’s Winter Bonuses: A Key to Economic Growth Amid Wage Gaps" that you kindly selected on 4 Jan. 2025.
According to Yahoo! news, most of the medium or small companies in Japan cannot provide bonuses, let alone increase the bonuses than last year.
The disparity between large companies and small and medium-size companies has not been resolved in Japan for many years. Therefore, I recommend new graduates in Japan to consider working in large companies.
Of course, there are many competitors, so I suggest that students take science faculties when they are about to be enrolled in colleges and universities.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on the YouTube video "Eco-Friendly Umbrellas Transform Shibuya's Rainy Days" that you kindly selected on 3 Jan. 2025.
I knew of the umbrella rental service, but I would not use it because returning the umbrella is quite hassle.
Besides, the rental fee of 140 yen per day is a bit expensive for me.
As I mentioned in the lesson, I bought an unused umbrella from a second-hand store.
The price was 500 yen, which is equivalent to 3-4 days of use the service.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, Pie.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on the article "Is This the End of Shibuya’s Iconic New Year Tradition?" that you kindly selected on 28 Dec. 2024.
This topic reminds me of the past incident, putting fire and mass stabing in a train in Tokyo in 2021.
This incident happend inside a train car, but in general the more people that congregate in an certain area, the more likely they are to be involved in a crime.
The best way to avoid such an accident is to avoid crowded areas.
That's why I support the Shibuya ward decision.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.
