Thank you so much, May.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on the "Could Humans Fight Back Against AI in 2026?" that you kindly selected on 26 Dec. 2025.
In my interpretation, "Humans Fight Back Against AI" means that humans are struggling not to be deceived by AI technology.
Of course, some workers may lose their jobs to AI. Meanwhile, this fact has an aspect that improves the quality of our lives.
However, but AI can also easily deceive us. For instance, there are many fake videos generated by AI. At first glance, we cannot distinguish real videos from fake ones.
Humans should develop the ability to acknowledge outputs generated by AI.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, May.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on the "Is Universal Basic Income a Good Idea?" that you kindly selected on 21 Dec. 2025.
This article reminds me of two-year basic income trial conducted in Finland. The results are as follows:
1) Employment situation: No significant difference was observed between the basic income recipient group and the non-basic income recipient group.
2) Happiness and health: Recipients experienced significantly lower levels of stress, depression, and loneliness compared to non-recipients.
3) Social participation; Increasing numbers of people are embarking on volunteer activities, caring for relatives, starting businesses, and working as freelancers, driven by a sense of financial security.
However, the Finnish government does not introduce the basic income policy, because it has low cost-effectiveness.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, May.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on the "S. Korea Exam Chief Resigns Over 'Insane' English Test" that you kindly selected on 18 Dec. 2025.
This article reminds me of English proficiency tests required for admission at some private universities in Japan.
The English exams are very difficult, and the reasons for this are shown below.
1) The English exams are not designed to judge English proficiency.
2) Knowledge of archaic English words are required in the test.
3) It is crucial to determine whether examinees have knowledge of a specific, such as "history" and no matter how proficient an examinee is in English, proficiency alone cannot lead to the correct answer.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, May.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on the "Plastic Pollution Worse than We Thought — Report" that you kindly selected on 14 Dec. 2025.
As I mentioned in lesson, the Japanese government started a policy requiring shops and stores to stop providing plastic bags to consumers for free about 5 years ago. Of course, shoppers can purchase plastic bags.
In fact, the policy can help reduce the use of plastic bags.
I think the policy cannot resolve the plastic pollution issue.
I recommend that the government encourage legal entities to use biodegradable bags instead of the policy.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, May.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on the "AI Tools Often Give Wrong Citations, Study Says" that you kindly selected on 8 Dec. 2025.
It is often said that Japanese university students are less likely study except for science courses.
To make matters worse, AI tools deteriorate the academic performance of university students.
This is because the results of AI tools may include fake information or wrong data.
Some AI tools require payment, while others are free. I expect the paid tools have more accurate information.
However, I would not recommend that students should not use even paid AI tools.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, May.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the material based on the "Why Young Workers Are Taking 'Micro-Retirement'" that you kindly selected on 7 Dec. 2025.
There are advantages and disadvantages to the 'Micro-Retirement'.
The biggest advantage of the retirement is that they can participate in activities designed for young people.
Meanwhile, the biggest disadvantage of the retirement is that the total amount of the pension will be significantly reduced, because they cannot pay taxes while they are taking the 'Micro-Retirement'.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, May.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the the material based on the "34% of Japan's New Grads Leave Jobs in 3 Years" that you kindly selected on 30 Nov. 2025.
As I mentioned in the lesson, three years are not sufficient to obtain specific skills and abilities.
Based on my experience, I believe you need to commit to the process for at least five years if you want to get them.
For that reason, they will not be able to gain any skills no matter how much time passes.
I don't recommend this trend at all.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, May.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the the material based on the "Hara Hachi Bu: The Art of Eating Just Enough" that you kindly selected on 15 Nov. 2025.
As I mentioned in class, some YouTubers in Japan have adopted the "Hara Hachi Bu" method.
One of the YouTubers succeeded in losing weight, but he said the methods were really stressful.
It is obvious that the method is effective for our health, but it is not effective for our mental health.
I suppose that it's important to savor our meals sometimes.
If you want to lose weight, consider the "Hara Kyu(9) bu" method, which means you should stop eating when you're 90% full.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, May.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the the material based on the article "Japanese Companies Look for Ready-to-Work Staff" that you kindly selected on 2 Nov. 2025.
The article says that many Japanese companies are willing to hire skilled employees.
However, based on my experience, I don't agree with the trend.
Such highly skilled employees are more likely to change jobs depending on the salary on offer.
Companies should hire and develop young employees with potential, because most of them are loyal and less likely to leave their jobs.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, May. It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the the material based on the article "Takaichi Becomes Japan's First Female Prime Minister" that you kindly selected on 25 Oct. 2025.
It was an epoch-making event: the first female prime minister has been chosen in Japan.
Many news media have focued the gender of the new prime nimnister, but the media does not report that she was born and raised in a destitute family. Additionally, unlike other typical politicians, none of her relatives are politicians or executive board members or wealthy people.
Many Japanese people have been expecting an ideal prime minister like her, because she understands the worries, suffering, true feelings, joys, and desires of ordinary people.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, May.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the the material based on the article "Japan May Soon Punish Abusive Customers" that you kindly selected on 19 Oct. 2025.
The power of the famous phrase "The customer is god" has diminished nowadays.
Meanwhile, elderly people are more likely to rely on the proverb than younger people are.
A man as a customer became strongly attracted to a female shop clerk and turned into a stalker.
Consequently, he searched her address and real name and intruded into her house.
The crime was also attributed to the notorious dictum.
To avoid such crimes, it is essential that the ordinance in Mie Pref. be widely spread across Japan.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, May.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the the material based on the article "Workers in Japan Use Fake Names for Safety" that you kindly selected on 6 Oct. 2025.
As I mentioned in the lesson, I basically agree with using fake names.
However, employees of BtoB companies should not use fake names. First of all, their customers are other companies.
This is because a real name is considered valid identification and helps maintain trust.
Meanwhile, public servants must not use fake names, because they are engaged in public affairs and their salaries are deducted from our taxes.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, May.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the the material based on the article "Osaka Is Japan's Most 'Powerful' City Outside Tokyo" that you kindly selected on 18 Sep. 2025.
I mostly agree with the results of the ranking of the ten most powerful cities in Japan.
However, I cannot understand why two cities, Tsukuba and Sendai, are ranked in the list.
Tsukuba is renowned as an academic hub, with a significant presence of a national public university, research institutions and laboratories. However, this does not make it a powerful city.
Sendai is the largest city in the north-eastern area of Japan, but there are no global enterprises or famous companies in the city.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, May.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the the material based on the article "Hisho Tabi: Escaping the Heat the Japanese Way" that you kindly selected on 8 Sep. 2025.
This article mentioned some resort areas, such as "Karuizawa" and "Kamikochi", where people can avoid the heat.
I recommend the "Kiyosato" area as a resort area to avoid the heat, considering its proximity to Tokyo pre.
I spent some time there in the summer, and it was quite comfortable due to the low temperature.
Nowadays, I'd rather stay home with the air conditioner running because domestic travel is expensive due to over tourism.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, May.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the the material based on the article "Japan to Replace Foreign Trainee System that you kindly selected on 13 Aug. 2025.
As I mentioned in the lesson, the Technical Intern Training Program is a notorious program because it offers few benefits to foreign employees, but employers can exploit them.
I was embarrassed by the fact that the Japanese government presented such a silly program to the world.
So, I'm for the idea of updating the program with the new programs, such as "employment for skill development" and "specified skilled worker".
Meanwhile, I expect that there should be strict restrictions for applicants to adopt the programs for security reasons.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, May.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the the material based on the article "Japan: 1,010 Food and Drink Prices Rising in August" that you kindly selected on 2 Aug. 2025.
In fact, Japanese nations are bored with the information that prices are increasing every single month. certainly, we cannot expect huge raise so far.
As a result, the current ruling political party lost many seats in the upper house of the national diet.
Meanwhile, the most patriotic political party, SANSEITO, got a significant number of seats.
This reflects the reality of most Japanese people. I'd like to expect our salaries will be raised or the product prices will be decreased.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.

Thank you so much, May.
It was an enjoyable, tactful class, as always, from the the material based on the article "Japan's Ishiba Loses Upper House Majority" that you kindly selected on 26 July 2025.
The current ruling party, the LDP, lost the national election in July because many Japanese people are not satisfied with the government's response to issues such as inflation, low salaries, rising rice prices, and tax increases.
The most patriotic political party, SANSEITO, won this election as well as the US. That makes sense.
I expect the incumbent prime minister, Ishiba, to resign. I expect a new prime minister to be chosen in 2025.
However, the speed of decision-making will be sluggish because neither ruling party has enough seats.
So, I suppose nations could be badly influenced.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking your next class.
